Privacy
A plain-language summary of what CropNEdit collects, and what it never does.
Your files never leave your browser
Passport photo editing, PDF merging, PDF compression, and the image background text tool all run entirely on your device using your browser's own canvas, Web Worker, and local processing features. Your photos and documents are never uploaded to, or stored on, any CropNEdit server.
Feedback you choose to send
If you submit the feedback form, we store your message along with the name and email you optionally provide, plus basic request details (your IP address, approximate country, user agent, and language) to help prevent abuse and understand how the site is used. This information is only collected when you submit the form.
Anonymous usage analytics
CropNEdit keeps simple, aggregate counters so we can see whether the site and its tools are useful:
- A count of visits to the site, de-duplicated per day so one visitor returning the same day is not counted twice.
- A count of successful downloads/conversions, per tool.
- The country each visit or conversion came from, derived from a header our hosting network (Cloudflare) provides — we do not run our own IP lookup service.
To de-duplicate same-day visits without storing your IP address, we combine your IP, browser user agent, and the current date, and immediately hash that combination with a secret salt. The raw IP address is never written to disk or logged — only the resulting hash, which cannot be reversed back into an IP address. We do not use cookies for this. No analytics data is linked to any account, email address, or other personal identity, because CropNEdit does not have accounts.
Aggregate totals (visit count, conversion count, and the list of countries seen) are visible to any visitor via the information icon in the top navigation bar.
